Where the Light enters

The wound is the place where the Light enters you.

Rumi

Or as Leonard Cohen puts it: "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in."

Often we feel driven to hide our wounds — out of fear, or shame, or the need to self-protect. But what if the gold of transformation emerges from these very places of suffering?

The wounds open us. Can we bear to listen deeply, to attend to the pain, the longing, the despair — the voice from the depths?

For that voice also speaks of our soul's longing, of our hopes and dreams.
